winding down

The vegetable garden is close to over.

Not to gloat

I almost hate to report this – because it might seem egotistical and could cause our luck to turn – but our vegetable garden is beginning to produce tomatoes.

Producing produce

We got our first red tomatoes over the weekend.

Warm and dry

I'm probably going to ramble a bit today. The long run – for this year – of dry weather has made me giddy.

Turning a corner

Maybe we are turning a corner. We still are having quite a bit of rain, but the temperatures are getting warmer and we actually have quite a few green tomatoes growing in our vegetable garden.

Back in the groove

Well, I've had the two days of sunshine – although the gardens did not need the half inch of rain they got during the dark Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Enough already

I have not seen the sun in five days. It rained a bit more than 4 inches from Thursday afternoon to Saturday morning. It has to stop.

Sweet season

Granddaughter Alana did not eat all of the strawberries shown in this photo, but she certainly did her part.

Strawberries and more

I picked our first strawberries this morning.

Back in the swing

I am back from vacation and still behind in the garden. I hate it when that happens, but the Wednesday through Saturday of Memorial Day weekend were rainy, and things just didn't work out.
