Soggy Dogs

No baseball at Hadlock Field tonight. It is still raining and, even if it quits, the field is too wet.

Today's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Friday, starting at 4 p.m. Each game will be seven innings. A fireworks show is scheduled after the games.

The starting pitchers have not been announced, but it can be assumed that Adam Mills, Thursday’s scheduled starter, will go on Friday. Felix Doubront is likely the other starter.

If you had a ticket to tonight’s game, you cannot exchange it for a ticket to Friday’s doubleader. It is already a sellout (there may be returned season tickets available at the box office, starting at 9 a.m.).

Those with tickets to Thursday's game can redeem them at the box office for similar tickets to any available game at Hadlock Field.

Kevin covers baseball for the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram. He first reported on spring training games for the St. Petersburg Times in 1978. He wisely moved to Maine in 1994 and now writes about the Portland Sea Dogs and Boston Red Sox — when he's not coaching Little League baseball.

He is married to Nancy, and the couple recently completed their lineup card with the birth of their ninth child.
